At times, you may be requested to perform a telnet and ended up with an error message saying that the command is not recognized.
To enable this command on your PC, click your Windows (start) button,
then type in:
Click Control Panel to run the app.
You will now see the Control Panel.
If your control panel is viewed by category, click Programs first.
Under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows features on or off.
Alternatively, if your control panel is viewed by small icons, you shall see see All Control Panel Items.
Click Programs and Features.
You will now see the Programs and Features app.
Click Turn Windows features on or off.
You will now see Windows Features.
Look for Telnet Client, check the checkbox next to it, then click OK to save the changes.
It shall takes less than a minute for the changes to be applied.
After the changes are applied, you may now Close the Windows Features app.
If you have not already close and relaunch the command prompt, please do so. The telnet command should now works on your command prompt.
